As the leaves change and we settle into fall, I've been reflecting on just how much life can hold in a single season. It's been a beautiful, emotional, and meaningful few months - and I wanted to share a few personal highlights with you, not as your real estate resource (though I'm always here for that!), but as a fellow human being navigating this wild and wonderful life.
It's hard to believe my sweet granddaughter, Leighton, is already 5 months old! We don't live close, so much of our time together is over FaceTime - but even through a screen, she melts my heart. Watching her grow, hearing her coos, and seething smile light up the camera has been such a gift. I'm counting down the days until I get to hold her in person in November. These long-distance moments have made me even more grateful for the time we do get to share.
I was able to sneak away for some time at our Florida condo, and the change of pace was so good for the soul! Slowing down, walking the beach, and just breathing in the salty air helped me recharge and return with a fresh sense of focus. It's amazing how stepping away, even briefly, can create space for clarity.
This season also brought a moment of reflection as I celebrated the life of a dear friend. She was 97, and was still driving last spring! Grief and gratitude often walk hand-in-hand. Her legacy reminded me to keep showing up for what matters - loving people well, being present, and living intentionally.
I also had the honor of golfing in a charitable event supporting HUB 61, a non-profit organization that helps women in crisis situations with housing, counseling, and mentorship. It was more than just a game - it was a powerful day of purpose. And speaking of giving back...
This year, I continue my tradition of what I call "Dessert A Month". Each year, I donate this as a raffle prize at a special event. This year's event was a euchre tournament to benefit Mowat-Wilson Syndrome, which is near and dear to my heart. The winning bidder receives a homemade dessert delivered to their doorstep each month for a full year! Here's a look at October's yummy trifle.
A few weeks ago, I attended Life Surge, an incredible event that stirred something in me. Faith, entrepreneurship, and intention! This new inspiration has carried me through, especially as I near 200 days alcohol-free. It hasn't always been easy, but it's been worth every step. I feel more clear, present, and healthier than I have in years!
In a world that moves fast and often feels uncertain, I'm learning to lean into what's real: connection, purpose, growth, and grace. Whether you're starting a new chapter, buying a home, or just trying to keep your head above water - know you're not alone. We're all figuring it out, one day at a time.
If you've read this far, thanks for letting me share a little of my life with you! And if you ever want to chat - about real estate, big life changes, or even dessert - I'm always here. π
